The story.
For 2026 UWR stepped into Radical Cup UK, one of Britain’s most competitive one-make prototype championships, with a Radical SR3 XXR carrying the #11. Professional driver and Team Manager Shane Kelly drives; students prepare, engineer and run the car at every round — from setup sheets and data review to pit stops and post-race strip-downs.

A new chapter
The SR3 XXR was revealed in spring 2026, with sponsor Marshall Harmony among the guests. The move to Radical gave students exposure to a large, professional paddock where setup windows are tiny and every tenth matters.
Student-run, race-ready
Students carry out preparation between rounds, manage tyres and fuel, run data analysis and handle the trackside operation. Team updates through the year highlighted long setup sessions at Silverstone and fast turnarounds after technical problems.
How it went
Team reports describe a podium (P3) at the Brands Hatch opener, a third-place qualifying effort at Oulton Park, a net second at Silverstone that became tenth after a 30-second safety-car penalty, and a P2 at the Donington finale (after post-race decisions) — enough, by the team’s count, for third in the overall standings.
