The story.
UWR has worked with the Morgan Motor Company since around 2016, and in March 2021 a new five-year agreement made the team Morgan’s factory works outfit. Students converted two brand-new, road-legal Plus Four cars — one manual, one automatic — into race cars, feeding development data back to the Malvern factory.

From Clubsport to works team
The earlier programme ran Plus 4 Clubsport cars in the AR Motorsport Morgan Challenge, collecting class wins and an overall Challenge title. The 2021 deal turned that relationship into a factory works and development role.
Revealed at Donington
The two new race cars were unveiled at Donington Park in July 2021, with Oceanscan as title sponsor of the Morgan project and Mission Motorsport as Morgan’s nominated charity partner.
More freedom to develop
For 2024 the programme moved from the Morgan Challenge to the BRSCC Clubsport Trophy, whose power-to-weight rules gave the students more freedom to develop the CX-generation car. In 2023 the team took the Morgan Challenge class championship.
2026
The team reports a strong 2026: wins at Silverstone GP and Oulton Park and three podiums from four rounds, with a front-row qualifying effort at the Brands Hatch finale before safety-car timing turned a contender into P5 in class.
